The Cable TV Compliance Office administers the rules and regulations of Section 30, Brevard County Code for Cable Communications as they relate to applications for franchise, renewal, expansion or transfer, coordinate public hearings and prepare all necessary documentation for Board action.
Section 30 of the Brevard County Code mandates that cable operators provide a free local government access cable channel. SCGTV contains programming of local, state and federal government entities. BREVARD COUNTY (Franchising Authority) has NO authority with respect to regulating rates, programming, channel selection or line-up or franchises within the city/town limits of Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Indialantic, Indian Harbour Beach, Malabar, Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Melbourne Village, Palm Bay, Palm Shores, Rockledge, Satellite Beach, Titusville, and West Melbourne. We do, however, have consumer protection authority and protection and maintenance of our County rights-of-way and easements. OBJECTIVES OF CABLE TV COMPLIANCE:
